Does my dental insurance cover any treatment costs? What if I have Soonercare?

If you have orthodontic coverage on your dental insurance plan, then typically yes! Our office will verify your insurance benefits to see how much it will cover. Please note, orthodontic coverage is typically subject to a lifetime maximum, is covered at a percentage and is paid out over the course of the length of treatment.

Our office now accepts Soonercare Insurance. Per Soonercare, there are requirements that must be met in order to qualify for orthodontic coverage including:

  1. Must have an active policy.
  2. Patients must be under 18 years of age.
  3. Patients must be cavity free for the past 12 months.
  4. Patients must have a referral from their general dentist.
  5. During the initial consultation, Dr. Misner will compile a “score” based on the Soonercare standards to determine the case severity. Depending on the score, Soonercare may or may not cover any of the treatment cost.

Are there any payment plans or discounts?

Our office offers interest free financing! Whether you need to make payments on the portion your insurance does not cover or if you are making payments on a full case fee, you are welcome to use our in-office payment plan. That means you can simply make a down payment before starting treatment and make monthly payments moving forward. Our treatment coordinators will discuss all of the payment options with you during the initial consultation. If you would like to pay in full for your treatment, we do offer a 5% discount.

How much does treatment with braces or Invisalign typically cost?

The specific cost of treatment can only be determined after a thorough examination at the initial consultation. In most cases:

  • Phase 1 or Early Treatment: $1500-$4000+
  • Comprehensive or Phase 2 Treatment: $4800-6800+
  • Limited Treatment: $1000+

Though a lot of people assume Invisalign is significantly cheaper than traditional braces, it’s about the same price as traditional braces. If you are not familiar with how Invisalign works, you can learn more about it here!

How can I find out how much treatment will cost for me or my kids, specifically?

At Cooper & Misner Orthodontics, we offer free consultations for every new patient! During the consultation, patients may have various pictures taken (including X-rays), meet with one of our doctors, and receive information regarding the next steps. If treatment is recommended, we will go into detail about the individual treatment plan as well as review payment options for the corresponding treatment fee. The fee quoted is typically honored for six months from the consultation date, given that no major changes occur to the teeth or jaw prior to beginning the recommended treatment.
